Transpersonal Art Therapy is a client centred therapy designed to allow you, the client, to find your own healing.
“Transpersonal art therapy is an holistic approach to art therapy that explores the connections between art, psychology, and spirituality. Rooted in transpersonal psychology, this form of therapy goes beyond the individual ego to consider the deeper, more expansive aspects of human experience. ” Kimberly Hetherington (https://kimberlyhetherington.com)
“The Transpersonal Art Therapist’s role is to build a bridge between their world and the world of the client so that they can facilitate the client to discover their own innate potential and healing. The therapist assists the client to understand, amplify, and develop their inner symbolic language.” The College of Complementary Medicine. (www.https://ccm.edu.au/)

It starts with a simple exercise to relax you and achieve a state of mind in which you can access your deepest thoughts and feelings. Then you will talk to me about the issue you wish to explore. I will guide you to amplify what you have spoken about, through appropriate art processes .
Absolutely. As part of a Therapist’s ongoing professional practice, they are obliged to discuss clients with their Supervisor, to ensure best practice. This is always done through the use of pseudonyms. Your confidential information remains just that – confidential. All paper documents are secured.
Transpersonal Art Therapy is a well established form of psychotherapy. It can be viewed as both a method of thinking and a way of doing things, recognizing spirituality and symbolism as a universal aspect of the human experience. Your Therapist will work with you to establish your boundaries, and your personal belief systems are given paramount importance.
